Bangladesh Taj Mahal


Like the Taj Mahal in India, one of the oldest world’s heritage of the Taj Mahal of Bengal or the second Taj Mahal. Bangladesh Taj Mahal has been built in the village Parab of Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj district. Bangladesh Taj Mahal is also known as mini taj mahal. Narayanganj industrialist filmmaker Ahsan Ullah Moni made this Bangladesh Taj Mahal. The construction of Bangladesh Taj Mahal was officially started in 2003 and it was opened to the public on December 2008. The construction of the Taj Mahal (Banglar Tajmahal) has been tried to keep the maximum match with the original Tajmahal. The main building of the Taj Mahal is an expensive, transparent, wrapped stone. In the Taj Mahal of Bengal, the place of Ahsanullah Moni and his wife Raziya grave are preserved.

Like the Agra Taj Mahal, there are four big monuments in the four corners of the main building. There are water squares, flower gardens and visitors’ sitting places in front of the building.

In the Taj Mahal of Bengal, there are Rajmoni Film City Studios and Rajmoni Film City Restaurant, where any visitor can take pictures. It has been built near the Taj Mahal of Bengal, the memory of the pyramids of Egypt, the memorial sculpture of the War of Liberation, the memorial sculpture of Indira Gandhi and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the 250-seat movie hall and seminar room.

Besides, the Taj Mahal is surrounded by various handicrafts, jamdani saree, clay jewelry, and many other goods shops.

Schedule and ticket prices:

The Taj Mahal of Bengal is open every morning from 10 am to 6 pm. Tickets are to be collected at Tk 50 each to enter here.


How to go:

The distance from Dhaka to the Taj Mahal of Bengal is only 30 kilometers. After visiting the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, Comilla, Daudkandi or Sonargaon bus ride to the Madanpur bus stand and go from there to CNG or auto-rickshaw to see the Taj Mahal at Tk 25-30. Besides, on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway, you can visit the Taj Mahal of Bengal by roaming in the name of Bharab, Narsingdi or Kishoreganj bus on the Berappa bus stand.
